Animal rights protection group CARE (Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth) revealed on April 11 that they have discovered the identity of the man in a viral video who abused his pet Dachshund.
According to CARE, within an hour of posting a notice regarding this incident of animal abuse, they were tipped off on the man's identity. Further, the organization obtained multiple counts of evidence that the man used to raise a Dachshund.
When CARE called and probed him about the matter, the man told them, "It's a video that I took last year during the Chuseok holiday. I was drunk at the time and I was going to show it to my friends but I got mad when I hurt myself from the dog's teeth so I hit it."
The Dachshund, which is estimated to be around 4 years old, was discovered to be out of the man's care, currently being raised elsewhere.
CARE told media outlet Insight, "We have filed a criminal complaint and submitted all the evidence of the man's animal abuse. It's [hard to find out what happened to the Dachshund] because we don't know who is taking care of the dog now."
Subsequent to being apprehended by the authorities, the man has apologized for his misdeed. In a video clip, the man said, "I've received legal punishment. I wanted to sincerely apologize to everyone so I decided to film this video. I'm very sorry and I think I deserve all the insults for my wrongdoing. I will reflect on myself and from now on, an incident like this won't occur again. I'm sorry."
