A rookie police officer is making headlines for her incredibly sweet way of handling a tough situation.
Back on February 28 at 9:19, the 112 situation room at the Gwangju Provincial Police Agency received a call that went, "A young woman keeps running around the streets without even wearing shoes."
While wandering around the area for five minutes, the officers, including Seo Hye Rim (31), of the Nambu Police Station discovered 'A' (35) running around in jeans and a wet knit top with no coat. She had no shoes on, only thin apricot-colored socks, and she was drenched in muddy water. Her feet and hands had scratches.
'A' showed signs of aversion when anyone asked her, "Why are you going around undressed?" as the words were hard for her to understand. When the officer asked her, "Where are you going? Did something happen?" she simply responded with, "It's so cold."
Hearing this, Seo took off the coat she was wearing and put it on 'A', asking again if something was wrong and asking for any guardian's contact information. As 'A' said her hips hurt, an ambulance was called and no inner or outer trauma was discovered. 'A' refused to go to the hospital.
The officer was able to confirm that 'A' was reported missing the previous night, so Seo contacted the family in an attempt to return 'A' to her home. She found out that 'A' was suffering from depression and an intellectual disability.
Officer Seo stated, "It's only been two months since I've been appointed [an officer], so it was my first time finding a missing person. A kept shaking, so firstly, in order for her to not be cold, I put clothes on her and tried to get her calm. I believe that this was something a police officer had to do no matter what."
Your first time ended in success! Good job!
