It was previously reported that South Korea would begin blasting K-pop music again through loudspeakers at the North Korean border.
This is in response to North Korea's latest nuclear test, as the country claimed to have successfully carried out its first hydrogen bomb test. The date, January 8, also coincides with North Korea's young leader Kim Jong Un's 33rd birthday.
And the choice of K-pop songs?
Big Bang's "Bang Bang Bang"
A Pink's "Let Us Just Love"
G-Friend's "Me Gustas Tu"
Lee Ae Ran's "100 Years of Life"

You might be wondering if these songs were specifically chosen for their meaning in the lyrics. A defence ministry official simply explained, "We have selected a diverse range of the most recent popular hits to make it interesting."
