Moon Geung Young spoke up about the 'gifting controversy' which had burgeoned so unexpectedly from a couple joking words she said to a fan on her Instagram. During her interview which progressed Monday morning at a cafe in Gangnam, the actress began, "My biggest belief is that my Instagram is a place for me to communicate with my fans."
Earlier, Moon Geun Young had written to a fan on Instagram, "If you're going to make an offering (present), do it coolly and properly," joking with fans about how they give her gifts. Though her fans explained that what she wrote was 'an expression of endearment,' the people who didn't know the whole story credited it to her being a 'diva.'

Moon Geun Young said during the interview, "Before, I thought that I wouldn't accept presents or gifts from fans. Despite this, fans said, 'We want to [give you gifts] so I told them, 'Do whatever you want.' I've always been close to fans so I used that expression without really thinking, but for those who don't know the situation, it may seem like I demanded gifts from fans."
The actress continued, "I answered that way because they were fans I'm close to and they said, 'Thanks for being so coarse with us,' but as time went by, even the fans were worried that misunderstandings may arise. Because they were so concerned, I ended up deleting the comment. It's a misunderstanding that arose because [my fans and I] are so close, which others may not know about," and concluded, "Because I didn't work for a while, there was no place for me to communicate with fans. I started Instagram because people told me it was a place to just upload pictures. I wanted to have an honest conversation with fans," laughing off the whole 'controversy.'
Let's hope this little mishap didn't have too much of a negative effect on Moon Geun Young and her projects!
