Rapper Swings has been discharged from the army after only 10 months of serving his mandatory military service. Though most Korean men have to serve for an average of 2 years, Swings' medical issues caused an early leave.
On September 11, he revealed through Facebook that he ended his military service with 11 months left on September 4. Swings wrote, "I've received treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder, stress, and depression ever since I was young. All of these disorders flare up when I'm under stress."
He continued, "Ever since training, I've taken medication... I would become depressed and then suddenly go from joy to crying. For the rest of the time left, I plan to focus on treatment and do not plan on promoting. Thank you."
Swings entered his mandatory military service in November of last year.
