The Chinese media has a new target as they recently reported on actor Ji Chang Wook, criticizing him for failing to adhere to precautionary measures despite the MERS outbreak in South Korea.
The Chinese outlet claimed that he failed to wear his safety mask properly, stating, "Back on June 19, Ji Chang Wook arrived in Hong Kong from Shanghai for a fan meeting at the KITEC Star Hall in Hong Kong," proceeding to state that there were about 200 fans at the airport to greet him, including students in uniform.
After accepting presents and flowers from his fans, Ji Chang Wook left the airport with a couple of his Korean employees. The report stated, "Currently, due to the severe outbreak of MERS in Korea, the number of deaths continues to rise. In this sensitive time, actor Ji Chang Wook put down his mask and intimately made contact with his fans."
Although not forthright, the report does appear to be hinting at some criticism regarding his close contact with fans and behavior despite the sensitive issue of MERS.

Chinese netizens who read this report had a variety or responses, such as, "His putting down his mask to share in conversation with the fans that came out to meet him derives from good manners," and, "It was careless of him to put down his mask and to touch his fans."
Regarding this issue, his agency rep told Xports News on June 22, "This is a malicious report from the media outlet in question. He did not behave in such a way to raise a problem."
