This past May 7, Eunjung released her first mini-album, titled 'I'm good', as a solo artist. The singer originally hid the fact that she was ELSIE while preparing for her first album. The reasons for the 'blind promotion' were to maintain an aura of enigma and to 'scrub' her image a bit.
The singer said, "I was actually more anxious because I had to be active under a different name. It's not easy to get your name out there. It's relief that [people realized] Ham Eunjung is ELSIE."
Among the masses, there are those that encourage her solo activities, but still others that are against them due to the controversy involving T-ara a few years back. Even to this day, she often faces malicious comments online emphasizing the controversy that surrounded the group.
Of course, this leads us to wonder just how she's able to deal with the hate. When asked about the hate she gets, Eunjung remarked, "Whether they're just being blunt or being intentionally mean, the comments reveal how they really feel. I try my best to decipher what they're trying to convey in their words. When I was younger I was hurt [by the mean comments] but I'm past that stage now. I try to think about why they would say that, what they mean, and how I can improve. Because I'm a public figure, I think I should be listening to what [the people] say."
The singer added, "I gained courage during my activities as a solo artist. I used to think that my true intentions would be communicated if I diligently work with a good attitude and I think that's really the case. I'm grateful [towards everyone] for showing an interest in ELSIE and watching my hard work. I will become a better me who tries even harder."
