On May 12, Yoo Seung Joon updated his personal Weibo account with a note which read, "Hello everyone, this is Yoo Seung Joon. Do you remember me? It's been 13 years since I left Korea. I dare to stand in front of everyone after all these years. I am nervous and careful, but I will be standing in front of you with an honest and sincere heart. I will only say the truth. I am sorry for being late and letting all this time pass. I will meet you on May 19 at 10:30 PM. From Yoo Seung Joon, who still hopes to remain as a beautiful youth."
Yoo Seung Joon reportedly received help from Shin Hyun Won Productions and the livestream will occur via AfreecaTV on May 19 at 10:30PM KST. The livestream interview will last for an hour.
Meanwhile, Yoo Seung Joon is a former Korean pop star who sold over 5 million records in the country during the peak of his career. However, the singer's career ended prematurely in 2002 due to military service evasion. According to the story, Yoo Seung Joon had repeatedly stated on air that he would fulfill his mandatory military service, but just before he was to be drafted, he became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
Since the incident, Yoo Seung Joon was deported and permanently banned from entering the country for his act of desertion.
