EXID appeared on SBS radio program 'Kim Chang Ryul's Old School' on April 28 and Solji, the powerhouse vocalist of the group, talked about her well-deserved win on competitive program 'Mask King,' which led to lots of happy tears.
Kim Chang Ryul asked if she knew she would win. "I didn't think at all that I would come out in first place," she replied. "I was nervous because I didn't know who was appearing [on the show]." In the program, everyone wears a mask to hide their identity for the least amount of bias possible in the result.
Doubting this a bit, he asked if she really did not know and she assured him, "I didn't know at all. For security, our staff members even left the latest."
When asked her method for winning, she said, "I think I was lucky. Also, I think I came off looking very sad . . . I sang the song while [substituting in] my situation. I think that got relayed to the viewers." There was definitely passion and a highly personal element to her performances that day. For singers, it's all about portraying and relaying emotions that people can empathize with, right?

Kim Chang Ryul also said, "You debuted in junior year of high school to cultivate [your skills] and now you're radiant; you said that you fell in love with love instead of singing." She explained, "Thinking of this after hearing LE talk about dating, the thing I fell for is love."
She was asked, "When you sing, do you think about love?" and replied, "I allude to my experiences as I sing. When I first sing a song, I look at the lyrics, think about it, then sing."
Kim Chang Ryul said, "I heard you want to be a DJ because you want to sing songs [on the radio]." She explained, "DJs put on the music, but I think it would be nice if they sang once in a while." That would be awesome to have Solji sing on a radio program as a DJ like ZE:A's Kevin on 'Arirang'!
