Moo Gak, humbled by a killer's blade
Oh, where do I start? So good, yet, still messy when you start to think about it...
When Moo Gak finds out about Cho Rim's efforts to put some distance between them, he tries to get more involved, insisting that they do skits together and that she help him with investigations. Our heroes work together to exonerate a friend in yet another unrelated crime, and the barcode murder investigation is derailed when Chun's body shows up (complete with barcode) and Moo Gak is stabbed and left for dead...
Scratch suspect number one...
Here we learn about the unlikely coincidence that Chef Kwon is afflicted with prosopagnosia. Given that Moo Gak has damaged his pain receptors and Cho Rim's sensory powers arise from some kind of brain malfunction, the odds are astronomically against two people with brain damage weirdness being thrown together (and now we have three!). I thought at first he might be lying, but given the headache-inducing sequence where the screen blurs when he looks at her, probably not. I wonder if they do something more with this later on.
Apparently, Moo Gak's Sherlock-like deductive powers are useless for the larger investigation. He always connects the dots in an odd but clever way to solve the other crimes, but the barcode murders really seem to have him baffled, except for the barcode part. I understand that you don't want to solve the big one before the series ends -- I'm guessing he doesn't have enough dots to connect? We already know who the killer is...so how can they keep the tension? I also want to see more action (they've done that really well in the past), but what we got was something like this:
Yeah. Okay. So Chef Kwon is really Batman?
I love how our "sensory couple" insisted on doing everything exactly the way the alleged thief and her boyfriend did. The scenes where they were awkwardly doing everything that a real couple does were outright hilarious. The accidental kiss due to well-timed pothole was comedy gold. I wasn't too sure about the "will they won't they" plot thread for the romance at first, but they're doing fun things with it. I'm still pretty sure that by the end, they'll be in each other's arms willingly.
We've been waiting seven episodes for this
And in case you missed it, here's the MV for "Spring Is Gone By Chance" from the OST by Yuju from G-Friend, as well as rapper Loco. Check it out!
