For the second year in a row, TVXQ proved to be the crowd favorite at the '29th Japan Gold Disc Awards' on March 2! Girls' Generation also did incredibly well, proving to be one of the most popular girl groups in Japan.
It was revealed during this event that the duo won five awards in four sections: 'Best Asian Artist,' 'Best Album of the Year,' 'Best MV,' and 'Best 3 Album (2 awards)'! Their album 'Tree' received the honor of 'Best Album of the Year' while 'TVXQ Live Tour 2014~Tree~' won the 'Best MV' in Asia. Lastly, 'Tree' and 'With' both made the 'Best 3 Album' for a total of five wins.
Girls' Generation's 'The Best' was the third album that won the 'Best 3 Album' award while "Indestructible" from that album won 'Song of the Year by Download' in Asia, earning the girls a total of two awards.
Both A Pink, BTS, and VIXX celebrated their successful debuts in Japan as they won in the 'Best 3 New Artists in Asia' category. BTS even won 'New Artist of the Year'!

TVXQ has always been immensely popular in Japan, often ranking first on various music charts and sweeping in a ton of audience members whenever they're on a solo tour in Japan! They're currently having a successful second Japanese 5-dome tour, 'TVXQ Live Tour 2015 ~WITH~' and will have five concerts in Osaka from March 14 to 15 and 17 to 19.
