There's speculation being thrown around regarding Producer Shin Won Ho's latest drama project, but unfortunately, nothing has yet to been confirmed. It looks like the production crew is intent on keeping everyone on their toes while they figure it out, but the latest possibility appears to be an even further blast to the past rather than a move towards the nearer present like previously speculated.
Instead of the possible 'Reply 2002' that was talked about before, the next work might be 'Reply 1988'! One rep had claimed that the year would be 1988 and the drama will start airing in July. However, it appears this is not the definite case.
On January 12, Producer Shin Won Ho said in an interview, "We talked about a lot of different things, but because of a situation that came up, everything has been put on halt. We'll need to watch over [the situation] over time.
It has not been completely decided that it will be 'Reply 1988.' We are thinking about everything from the beginning again, so it might take a very long time."
CJ E&M also said, "Nothing has been decided yet. 'Reply 1988' is one of the many things we are discussing. It's to the point that the discussions can change multiple times a day. It's not the stage to call it production visualization."
