The program, which loved a lot of love during season 1 of the show, has been struggling to maintain the interest of viewers as season 2 goes on. Because of this, the producers of the show have apparently been in talks to change things up, including possible tweaks to the format or even cast, for a season 3 next year.
An MBC rep told TV Report on the 20th, "Although it isn't confirmed, there will be some reformatting due to the low viewer ratings... It is true that we are in talks for a season 3... However, nothing has been confirmed regarding the reorganization of cast, time slot for season 3, and more. Of course, there will be some sort of reformatting, but we are currently considering various ideas."
'Dad, Where Are You Going?' recently achieved its lowest viewer rating to date with 5.6% for its November 16th broadcast, getting trampled in viewer ratings by competing show KBS 2TV's 'Superman is Back' which came in at #1 in its time slot with a 17.0% last Sunday.
