The couple were previously spotted going on a vacation in Europe last April and were reported to be in a one-year relationship. He previously talked about his girlfriend in an interview with a media outlet, sharing, "She is much more thoughtful than I am. If it was anyone else, why would they date me in this state right now. She probably has a lot of good and well-rounded people her age [who she could've dated instead]. My girlfriend doesn't worry too much about my current situation. I think this is a sincere [relationship]. She is a friend who has my back even now."�

Shin Jung Hwan also revealed that he has no plans to make a return to broadcasts yet.
