In the clip above, a car can be seen speeding down the street, destroying a whole row of street shops in the process. According to news reports, the accident occurred on October 8 around 10:09 PM in the city of Busan.
The driver was a 52-year-old woman Ms. Ji, who was intoxicated at the time of the accident. After crashing into several street shops, Ms. Ji was reported to have fled the scene. Residents of the neighborhood chased after her, and she was eventually arrested by the police two hours later.
There were a total of 11 victims. Two shopkeepers 68-year-old Ms. Kwon and 64-year-old Ms. Kim were tragically killed and nine others were injured. Three of these injured, including a 17-year-old Ms. Yoo, have received particularly severe injuries and are currently being treated at the hospital.
