Choi Jin Hyuk has been accepted, while Super Junior's Sungmin is still waiting for his results. Yoo Ah In on the other hand is said to have passed the preliminary audition but not the examination as he gave up on applying due to public scrutiny.
Choi Jin Hyuk's agency Red Brick House rep stated on the 17th, "Choi Jin Hyuk has been accepted into the Seoul Police Public Relations Unit... His enlistment date is still not confirmed yet... Prior to his enlistment, there is a high chance that he will feature in 1-2 productions... He is in talks for his next production."
Choi Jin Hyuk passed the audition as well as the physical and written examinations, and interview in order to get accepted for recruitment into the police unit. It's said those accepted will most likely enlist between May and August.
Yoo Ah In's reps revealed that although the actor had passed the audition, he decided not to take the exams. The public has been looking upon the news of celebrities applying for the Police Public Relationship department negatively as they feel that this unit is the next military celebrity soldiers unit, which was abolished last year due to immense amount of backlash from the public. His reps commented, "It was determined that there was no problem with Yoo Ah In, who has 10 years of acting experience, to use his talents to help aid in the carrying out of duties. However, due to the recent controversy about celebrities applying for the Police Public Relations unit, the actor received a lot of stress and decided to give it up. The police unit as well as we, his agency, have decided to accept his decision."
Sungmin's agency SM Entertainment rep stated on the 17th, "Whether or not Sungmin has been accepted has not been officially announced yet... He is still waiting for the results."
