Alright guys and gals, I have a confession to make- I've never watched a time travel K-drama. But, since I received a number of requests after my first few 'Heirs' reviews went up, I decided to give 'Marry Him if You Dare' a chance- it was Yoon Eun Hye's poodley perm that ultimately got me.
It's also known as 'The Future Choice' or 'Mi Rae's Choice'- it's a pun on the fact that Mi Rae is the main character's name, and mirae means "future" in Korean. Get it? Time travel? Aren't puns great? Anyways, in 'Marry Him if You Dare', our heroine is an aspiring script writer stuck in a dead-end call center job. So, to start things off, how about we look at five times when a character went off-script by doing something unexpected in episode one!

5. Mi Rae daydreams about being a broadcast writer
Our leading lady, Mi Rae (Yoon Eun Hye), is stuck in a thankless, dead-end, call-center job. She spends most of her time singing "Red Sunset" to a particularly nasty customer, who occasionally cuts her off to insult her and then demands she keep singing. The first hint we get that Mi Rae actually has other ideas for what she'd like to do with her life is when she stops to help a broadcast team and gets lost in thoughts of what it'd be like to be their head writer. Not exactly off-script, though she does stop to talk to one of the writers about how to become a writer.
4. Shin claims he's not leaving broadcasting
Reporter Kim Shin (Lee Dong Gun) has been replaced- not just with anyone, but with a young, inexperienced anchor who speaks with a lisp and stumbles over the script all the time. Rather than go out with a fizzle, Shin literally goes off-script on what should be his final episode, announcing that he's not leaving broadcasting til the day he dies. That's a bold statement, Mr. Kim.
3. Mi Rae goes back in time to stop herself from marrying Shin
Mi Rae-from-the-future (Choi Myung Gil, whom we shall call Ajumma from now on to avoid confusion) goes back in time to arrange a marriage for her younger self, messing with the biggest script of all- fate. However, Ajumma is still only human, and we don't yet know if she has the skills to pull off the grand scheme she has in mind.
2. Ajumma helps Mi Rae win the tickets to Jeju
In her first attempt to get Mi Rae to trust her and first attempt to snag Se Ju (CNBLUE's Yonghwa) as a husband, Ajumma gives Mi Rae pointers on how to win a talent show, which wins her a vacation for two on Jeju Island. While we have yet to see just how big of a piece of the Mi Rae-Se Ju-Shin triangle, we do know that it somehow changes Se Ju and Youkyoung (Han Chae Ah)'s first meeting, which seems to be of utmost importance to Ajumma.
1. Mi Rae sings the wrong words to "Red Sunset"
As much as Mi Rae wants change and thinks about change, she ultimately finds a certain amount of comfort in her lifestyle. However, when Mi Rae freaks out at the "Red Sunset" customer, swears at him, tells him to stop calling, and announces she's quitting, we see our humble heroine start to take some kind of control of her life- even if it is only because Ajumma told her to do so. With such a big show of things, I'm betting upcoming changes are going to be even crazier and more dramatic.
