With how popular Lee Hyori is, many might have assumed that Lee Sang Soon was the one who asked her out - but apparently that wasn't the case.

Lee Sang Soon appeared as a surprise guest with Lee Hyori on the June 7 installment of SBS' 'Thank You'. On the program, the MC asked him, "How did your friends react when you told them you were dating Lee Hyori?". He answered, "I only told my closest friends. I was scared to tell anyone else." He added, "Lee Hyori was the one who asked me out first."

Also, because he couldn't call her by name while they were dating in secret, the solution he came up with was to call her by a nickname. He revealed, "I couldn't call her by name, so I called her 'gae-ddong' (dog poop). Her name on my phone's contact list is even saved as that. Lee Hyori calls me ho-ni."
