Tony Ahn made the shocking confession that he earned 5 times more from his school uniform business than he did during his days as a member of H.O.T.
During the latest episode of QTV's 'Handsome Boys of the 20th Century', Tony Ahn, Moon Hee Jun, Chun Myung Hoon, Eun Ji Won, and Danny Ahn continued to recall their days as first generation idols.
When the topic of money came up, Tony Ahn revealed, "During my promotional activities as a member of H.O.T, I earned 8 million won (~$7,260 USD) from royalties." Moon Hee Jun, who was also a part of the same team, shared, "I also earned money. For the 2-3 months of promotional activities from the 5th album's title track royalties, I earned 100 million won (~$90,765 USD)." Tony Ahn was shocked to hear the word, "hundred million," and Moon Hee Jun expressed his apologies to his fellow member.
Tony Ahn then revealed he made more money when he wasn't an idol, sharing, "To be honest, I earned the most money when I started my own business. My school uniform business was the biggest cash cow. I earned around 4-5 times more than I did during my whole career [as a member of H.O.T]," to which Moon Hee Jun responded, "Traitor," for not including him in his profitable business.
Let's hope idol groups these days make more money than the first generation idol groups did back in the day.
