Kim Kibum (Super Junior) has been cast in a leading role in his first Chinese drama.
According to SM Entertainment, he'll be playing the lead in 'Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils'. The drama is based on a novel of the same name written by famous novelist Jin Yong in the 1960s. The story revolves around the 'Eight Races' of non-human beings in Buddhist mythology. Kibum will be playing the kind, simple prince Duan Yu from the Kingdom of Dali.
Kibum commented, "I'm honored to play such a great role in a great production. As it's my first Chinese drama, I'm quite nervous, but I've discussed my character with the director (Samson Lai), and I will do my best to flawlessly portray Duan Yu's character as best I can."
He'll be acting alongside Hong Kong actor Wallace Chung and Chinese actress Meng Zhang. The drama is planned to premiere in China in the latter half of 2013.
