Defconn stated, "My friend who I lived with while I was doing music created the name for me. If you say Dae Joon fast, it becomes Def. Def also means 'best' in hip hop terms. My friend made the name for me, but we ended on bad terms. I thought about whether to use it or not for a while, but I already used it on the internet."

Solbi replied, "Didn't you start doing well after you used the name Dae Joon? Then Dae Joon is right for you."
