TVXQ and Kim Hyun Joong were certified Gold in Japan.
The Recording Industry Association of Japan reported on August 10th that TVXQ's new single 'Android' and their 2012 Japanese Live Tour 'Tone' DVD have both been certified 'Gold'.
The 'Gold' certification is awarded to those artists who have sold over 100,000 copies of an album, and in addition to TVXQ, singer Kim Hyun Joong's new single 'HEAT' released back on July 4th has also been certified as 'Gold'.
In the case of TVXQ, they proved that they are at the leading forefront of the Hallyu wave by breaking a new record on the Oricon Chart. Their new song "Android" is the group's 11th song to rise to the top of Oricon's Weekly Single Chart, and TVXQ also became the first oversea artist in 45 years to reach #1 on Oricon's Weekly Single Chart 10 different times, after releasing 'STILL' this past March.
Meanwhile, TVXQ completed a large-scale tour concert for 550,000 fans, and also concluded a fan meet with 100,000 fans while Kim Hyun Joong is also currently busy touring various countries in Asia.
