Although they've released over 20 albums to date, Supernova's long Korean hiatus has left them still thristing for more despite already rising as Hallyu stars in Japan.
For the first time in two years, the whole team has finally made their comeback after focusing on individual activities over the course of their hiatus.
Supernova recently sat down for an itnerview with X Sports News and expressed their thoughts about their comeback one week into their promotions. Sungjae revealed, "I was nervous since it's our first Korean promotions in a while, but it's fun now that we're used to it. I feel great meeting with our Korean fans."
Kwangsoo stated, "I was worried about whether any fans would show up since it's been such a long time but a lot didn't forget us and actually came. Our Japanese fans are also supporting our Korean activites so we're off to a positive start."
The members revealed that they participated in everything from the clothing to music video concepts for their title track, "Stupid Love".
Jihyuk expressed, "I feel great affection for the album in that a lot of our opinions were reflected in it. I'm excited to hear what our fans think of it and I'm eager to promote it in hopes of more people listening to something we created by hand."
Despite their leader being absent due to his service in the military, Supernova is showing stability at its best with just five members.
Kwangsoo commented, "During the six months we underwent the change, the members personally focused on their individual talents. We miss our leader hyung, but we want to show that we're working hard even without him instead of us going through a difficult time because he's gone."
Sueprnova expressed strong desires in being known as true K-Pop stars. Having already earned success in Japan, they've set their sights on extending their Korean promotions now.
Gunil stated, "We've released more albums in Japan despite being K-Pop artists so I think it'd be kind of unclear to call us K-Pop stars. We're going to focus and work hard on our Korean promotions so we can truly be called K-Pop stars."
Sungmo added, "While preparing for this album, we agreed with one another that we won't obsess over rankings or feel intimidated. We really want to promote more in Korea, and we hope that people will support us as well. We want to break the notion that people have of us only promoting in Japan."
Concluding the interview, Sungjae stated, "We just want to be loved in Korea, Japan, or wherever. We'll always work hard."
Supernova will be going on their Japanese tour this month after concluding their album promotions and return in June/July for their next Korean album release.
