The production staff of KBS's '1N2D' are aiming to once again film at the South Pole.
Choi Jae Hyung, the new PD for the new season of '1N2D', revealed to Star News that "we are considering re-attempting the South Pole mission that '1N2D' had to regretfully abandon due to the earthquake in Chile at the time."
Back in March of 2010, '1N2D' was getting ready to embark on their mission to the South Pole when Chile was unfortunately struck by a massive earthquake. The earthquake created multiple problems, such as transportation, and so the '1N2D' team had no choice but to give up on their South Pole mission.
The production staff had already prepared expensive equipment including seven full HD cameras; they've also made arrangements with various agencies and organizations, so that they could bring the South Pole to the viewers watching at home. Additionally, they contacted the families of those who were working at the South Pole, so that they could bring letters and presents from home to the workers.
Choi PD stated, "We still have all the equipment that were prepared at the time... As for the extension to the original '1N2D', the new '1N2D' is thinking seriously about the South Pole mission that fell through."
He continued, "The time period has not yet been decided, so once the new program kicks off, the staff and the cast members will have to talk it over.. The South Pole is one mission that '1N2D' hasn't been able to fulfill. We will do our best to keep the promise with the viewers."
In related news, the new season of '1N2D' will begin its broadcast on March 4th.
