Singer Ali who has recently released her controversial new song "Na Young" has met with Na Young's father to once again apologize in person. The singer wrote the song in response to the 'Cho Doo Soon Incident', where a young girl who the public now refers to as 'Na Young', was violently raped and beaten. As the song was met with high criticism and controversy, Ali explained during an emergency press conference on the 16th that she wrote the song in an attempt to offer some hope to the young girl, and confessed that she herself was a victim of rape. The singer secretly met with Na Young's father on the 17th in order to better explain her position, and once again apologized for the misunderstanding. Ali's management informed StarNews on the 19th, "The day after Ali held her press conference, she met with Na Young's father to offer her apologies. The two shed tears as soon as they met, and Na Young's father embraced Ali as if she were his own daughter." The fact that the two met in person was revealed by an author who wrote 'Finding the Wings of Hope', also in response to the Cho Doo Soon Incident. The author wrote via his personal website, "Na Young's father remarked that Ali is a thoughtful, sensitive, and beautiful young woman. He wanted everyone to offer their warm encouragement to Ali from here on out." The author also officially apologized for previously attacking Ali. Previously, he had written, "I, who promised myself to forever be a guardian to Na Young and a companion to her father am seeking apologies from Ali. Whether or not she is being truthful about the things she is saying is being questioned." But most recently, he wrote again, "I bow my head and apologize for being unable to properly understand Ali's intended message, even as a writer myself. Because you have a hurtful past, I would like to warmly embrace you. I ask you to forgive me for the aggressive words I used the past few days. Hope is a right given to everyone, and because Ali meant to offer new hope for Na Young and sought her own forgiveness from the family, we ought to gift her with a new hope as well. I feel now is the time to offer encouragement and support to Ali." Ali released her first album 'Soul-Ri' on the 13th, and the lyrics, "You threw away your youth, selling your body, your soul, your poor life was stolen from you" immediately became a public issue.
