A female punk rock band named 'Super 8 Bit' has announced that they will be making their debut later this month with their first EP album, "Boy 'n' Girl"! Female punk rock bands are just as rare in the Korean indie scene as they are mainstream, so the news comes as a welcome surprise to music fans everywhere. The trio signed under Evans Music earlier this year and are said to be experienced and talented enough to have toured Japan under the name 'Shorty Cat'. Super 8 Bit was chosen as the rookie of the month for the month of August on EBS's 'Hello Rookie' and also recently performed at the '2011 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival'. Their debut EP album, 'Boy 'n' Girl', will be released on August 16th. It's been revealed to have been mastered at the Abbey Road Studio along with the support of veteran musicians like Lee Sang Hyuk (drummer of Crying Nut), who composed and wrote track five titled "Tumble". On their name, the girls revealed, "When time goes by, everything changes, but we didn't want to be something that changed. In order to retain the memories of our youth, we were reminded of the older 8-bit games and thus named ourselves 'Super 8 Bit'. They continued, "Our music will be punk at its base, but we hope to just touch people with songs that are simple yet upbeat and strong yet addictive." Check out their teaser below!
