Lee Dong Wook, discharged from military service just yesterday, is already preparing for a new drama called "Scent of a Woman". As he went to work, he talked about his experience in the army.
He said, "The day before I left, my comrades and I shared stories with each other. I felt so moved and grateful after realizing how much they had grown to love me. I hope that after me, Andy (Shinhwa) will become a good squad leader. I would really like everyone to be safely discharged so that we could all meet again in the same drama in the near future."
He also explained why he chose "Scent of a Woman" as his first project right after his discharge:
"I was thinking of doing a fun and lighthearted drama after being discharged, but after reading the synopsis for 'Scent of a Woman', I thought 'This is it!' Also, Director Park Hyung Ki made me excited about the character Ji Wook."
About his co-star Kim Sun Ah, he said, "Although I was casted for the drama pretty late, Sun Ah sunbae is such a great actress that I think she will be very helpful to me. Not to mention, there's an episode where I learn about the importance of life through her, so the drama should turn out interesting in various ways."
He did not forget to greet all his fans, who undoubtedly had been waiting for him to come back and act in a new drama. He said, "I would really like to thank my fans who had been waiting for my return and sending me letters while I was serving. From now on, I will become a better actor after taking part in a good drama and having a fan meeting with all of you."
Even though he left the army just yesterday, he headed to a photoshoot for the drama's promotional posters. To congratulate him on being discharged, Kim Sun Ah prepared a cake and they celebrated along with Um Ki Joon and Seo Hyo Rim, who had both been filming at the time.
Their drama, "Scent of a Woman", will broadcast some time in July, so keep an eye out for it!
