Veteran singer Kim Gun Mo, a contestant on MBC's "I Am a Singer," has announced that he will be voluntarily leaving the show. On March 23rd, he stated, "I shouldn't have accepted the opportunity to compete again despite my disqualification; I'm extremely apologetic towards the viewers and the audience judges." When asked why he accepted the second chance, he revealed, "They said that the opportunity would be given equally to the other singers as well, and I thought it was right at the time. I was hesitant, but I don't regret that I took up the opportunity. If I had just gone home after I was disqualified, I don't think I would have changed." In the two weeks he spent training for the second chance, he shared that the experience became a turning point in his life. Unfortunately, now that his second chance is embroiled in a controversy that eventually led to PD Kim Young Hee being removed from the show, he can't help but feel upset. "I don't feel well knowing that such a result came about because of my opportunity. The person who gave me that chance isn't on the show anymore, so what reason do I have to continue appearing on it? My decision to leave is my duty." Source: Daily News via Nate
