Director Park Chan Wook tried out something new by filming a movie entirely with Apple's iPhone. Titled "Paranmanjang", the film won the 'Golden Bear to the Best Film' award at the 'Berlinale Shorts Competition' at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 19th. Not only is the film the world's first ever smartphone movie, but it's also the first ever smartphone movie to win an award at an international film festival as well. The film, which is also Park's collaborative effort with his brother, Park Chan Kyung, was praised for its recording effects as well as imaging techniques which left the audience in awe and disbelief over the fact that it was shot with an iPhone. In his awards speech, Park Chan Kyung expressed, "My heart is swelling over all of the interest and support that have both exceeded my expectations. I would like to return this honor to all of those who helped create this movie." Hyun Bin and Im Soo Jung's "Come Rain, Come Shine," the only Asian movie out of the 16 eligible for the Golden Bear, did not come away with an award despite the high level of interest it garnered at home.
