On October 25th, the 2010 Tokyo Drama Awards are scheduled to be held at the Meiji Memorial Hall and some awards have already been announced ahead of the awards ceremony. Earlier this year, the popular 2009 Korean drama IRIS aired in Japan. The drama was highly anticipated and TBS bought the distribution rights to the show for a record $4.2 million dollars. The show received high ratings in Japan and also drew over 60,000 people to it's live stage concerts showing the immense popularity of the show. Now, the drama will receive it's first award in Japan. Taewon Entertainment, the production company of IRIS, stated in a press release that IRIS will be honored with the foreign project award at the 2010 Tokyo Drama Awards. In addition, IRIS star Lee Byung Hun will also be awarded at the show with the Best Actor in Asia award according to a statement by his agency BH Entertainment. To receive their respective awards, both the CEO of Taewon Entertainment and Lee Byung Hun are scheduled to attend the award show on October 25th. Source: AsiaE
