We reported way back in May of 2009 that actor Park Shin Yang had won the legal dispute against Lee Kim Productions for unpaid wages. But as of now, Park Shin Yang is still unable to return to acting nor receive his unpaid wages yet. Lee Kim Productions did not agree with the verdict and filed an appeal, which saw the case taken to the Supreme Court, the highest judicial tribunal in Korea. So the case dragged until recently when Park Shin Yang uploaded a copy of the appeal result on March 31st, which wrote that the Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal and ordered Lee Kim Productions to pay up 380 million KRW of unpaid wages. According to the Supreme Court, there were no irregularities when the contract was signed, so Lee Kim Productions has to pay as stated on the contract. We certainly hope that Park Shin Yang will get his money back soon. But this prolonged legal battle has already seen two years of possible acting gigs wiped away for Park Shin Yang and as it stands, the indefinite ban slapped on him from accepting any acting jobs in Korea by the Korea Television Drama Production Company Association is still valid.
