There has been a big change in two of the most popular variety programs KBS 1N2D and MBC Infinity Challenge. Programs like�1N2D and Infinity Challenge run on a format of limited members, but with the return of old members from the army, both shows get new "old" members. On March 10th, entertainer Haha was discharged from the army and immediately joined the filming of Infinity Challenge which was later aired on the 27th. Kim Jong Min meanwhile has been on 1N2D since last December. For the Infinity Challenge episode on the 27th, Haha showed a bit of awkwardness as he tried to adjust, but he still showed his existence and variety-like character by getting along well with other members and showing his talent. In the episode, Haha's mission was to safely deliver rice cakes to the variety director while the six remaining members had to act as "wolves" and psychologically fight "red riding hood" Haha for the rice cakes. The episode illustrated from time to time, Haha's past character and personality through his actions that caused much laughter among the audience. Because of this, Kim Tae Ho PD complimented, "Haha has a PD- like mind so he will recover his variety sense in no time and deliver great laughter to the audience." Although Haha did lack in some parts and was unable to show a trendy way of being funny, he did leave a strong impression in a short period of time, showing that he can adjust successfully to the current variety world. In contrast, Kim Jong Min who has been a member of 1N2D since last December, has not been able to provide as much laughter as expected, creating much�disappointment. Not only has Kim Jong Min failed to create a new character, but he also does not stand out among the rest of the 1N2D members. Additionally, it is not as if he has a laid back character who talks well like Haha either. Before heading off to the army, Kim Jong Min gained interest among audience members with his "dumb" character. However, he is now at a crossroad where this kind of character is not enough to get audiences interested anymore. Like fellow 1N2D member Lee Soo Geun who interchanges between "Nation's worker" and "Nation's informant," if one does not show an improved or a different side of themselves, audience members do not hold an interest. I really liked Kim Jong Min before he went off to the army. His variety character with Chung Myung Hoon was so funny on shows like Love Letter. Let's hope this multi entertainer can get back up on his feet and start being funny again. In regards to Haha, he was great on his first day at Infinity Challenge, kudos to him!
