Assistant Manager Kim, ready to go to King of Masked Singer (NCT DOYOUNG: Masked Singer Behind)

Amidst NCT 127's busy schedule due to U.S. promotions and their 1st World Tour 'NEO CITY: The Origin', NCT member Doyoung made time to prepare for his performances and compete in 'King of Masked Singer'. In the newest video on NCT Daily, Doyoung shows fans his preparation process, from choosing songs to practicing and rehearsing for his performances.

Doyoung entered the competition as 'Assistant Manager Kim (Kim Daeri) and gained the hearts of the audience, panelists and viewers for his skillful singing and sweet voice. He continued defeating his opponents with wide score gaps, reaching the final round, a feat that is not often achieved by idol singers. Following the steps of his SM seniors who also reached the final round, Doyoung once again proved the skills and qualities of SM idol vocalists.

In the first round, Doyoung sang 'A Little Girl' by Lee Moonsae with his opponent 'Section Chief Park'. He beat 'Section Chief Park' with a score of 72 to 27. 'Section Chief Park' turned out to be Jasson, the husband of comedienne Hong Hyunhee. Check out thier performance of 'A Little Girl' below.

When asked to show his personal skills, Doyoung performed a sexy dance which also trended online last week. Check out his dancing skills which gained praises from the panelists below.

In the second round, Doyoung went up against 'Cupcake'. He performed 'Beautiful' by Crush and melted the hearts of the audience and panelists with his sweet voice. He is showered with praises for his sweet voice and skills, and ultimately beat 'Cupcake' with a score of 77 to 22. 'Cupcake' turned out to be Sunday of The Grace. As for his personal talents, he did an imitation of Spongebob, Squidward, Gary and Patrick. 

In the 3rd round, Doyoung performed his own rendition of 'Time Spent Walking Through Memories' by Nell. The panelists once again shower him with praises for his skillful singing. He beat his opponent, 'Paper Airplane' who turned out to be Hangzoo of Rhythm Power, with a score of 74 to 25 and moved on to the finals. Although he failed to obtain the title 'Masked King' in the end, Doyoung managed to leave a deep impression with his amazing skills and performance. The words 'NCT', 'Kim Daeri' and more trended on various search engines in Korea after his memorable appearance on the show. Meanwhile, NCT 127 are headed to Paris for a concert as part of their 1st World Tour.
