A woman in her 40s drowned after jumping into a river to see if her dog will save her.
On July 1st, it was reported a 46-year-old woman went missing at Hongcheon River. According to her friends, she jumped into a river after the group started discussing whether a dog will help rescue its owner if the owner is in danger. She was then swept by a rip current and went missing.
30 rescuers came to search for her after the report was made around 6:30 AM but it was reported the muddy and fast-flowing river is making the search difficult. The police are further investigating her 3 friends who came to camp with her and her dog.
Seems like the dog was the only smart one out by the river that day.
