Another case of cruelty against children is making headlines, and one that is likely to leave you feeling sick in your stomach. 

It was reported that on February 9, Changnyeong Police Station arrested a 49-year-old man identified by his surname Lee without a warrant for murdering his son. 

On Lunar New Year, Lee's cousin, who had dropped by Lee's home to deliver holiday greetings, had witnessed Lee committing a criminal act against his 9-year-old son. The cousin saw Lee's son with a plastic bag over his head and also saw Lee slash his son's leg and then go to sleep as though he did nothing wrong. After seeing Lee commit the crime, the cousin immediately dialed the authorities. 

The cousin explained, "Even though it was Lunar New Year, the front door was locked and there was no sign of life, so I went over the wall to go into the house and found them lying down together." 

The police found that the son had suffocated to death with the bag still over his head.

Lee was reported to have testified that when his son searched for his mother and bothered him, he fed him a sleeping pill and suffocated him with the plastic bag. He further stated that he had also swallowed a sleeping pill. Lee, who suffers from mental disorders, was said to have been living alone with his son after his wife left the family. 

Police revealed that other than the signs of suffocation, there were no other injuries on the son's body. Further, police have submitted an official arrest warrant for Lee and plan to find out exactly why he committed the murder.
