The grieving father who was recently hospitalized for fasting for nearly 46 days is putting an end to his hunger strike as of today.
For a quick recap, Kim Young Oh's daughter died during the ferry Sewol Ferry tragedy back in April. The father started fasting to demand a meeting with the President and an independent probe into the accident from the government.
In a recent interview with YTN News, he said, "My younger daughter Yoona was worried about me even before I was sent to the hospital and told me to stop the fasting. She came to visit the hospital and was having a hard time. My mother, who is in the countryside, also found out the day I was taken to the hospital and was crying. I was motivated (to stop fasting) by my parents and Yoona."
But even after being taken to the hospital, Kim Young Oh firmly stated that when he does feel better, he will go back out there with others and demand further investigation. He said, "My goal is to create a safer country. I'm going to keep at it until it happens."
