The release of CCTV footage that shows comedian and clergyman, Seo Se Won, assaulting his wife, Seo Jung Hee, back in May has been sending shockwaves.
While news of this assault came out around the same time it happened, the footage and interview with the victim herself was covered on July 24 through MBC's broadcast of 'Real Story Eye.'
The CCTV lodged inside an elevator reveals Seo Se Won grabbing Seo Jung Hee's feet and dragging her into the elevator as the door opens. Seo Jung Hee hits her head on the floor and is humiliated as people look on.
Seo Jung Hee reported the incident immediately to the police afterwards, and then filed for a divorce lawsuit in July. Seo Jung Hee claimed her husband had verbally abused both her and their daughter, who lives in the States.
Seo Jung Hee released a voice message from her ex-husband saying, "Do you know how much money I invested to raise you? You dare do this to me?"
In an interview with 'Real Story Eye,' Seo Jung Hee expressed her frustration in tears, "I can't live like this anymore. I don't want to lie anymore that everything's fine when it isn't."
Netizens who saw the CCTV assault story reacted with comments: "Seo Jung Hee's assault was shocking," "The assault happened in front of people just watching and they didn't do anything," "Even verbally assaulting the daughter," and "What happened between the two?"
