Actor Park Sung Hoon is set to make his return to the small screen through a new romantic comedy.
According to a report by SPOTV News on March 26, Park Sung Hoon is currently in talks to play the male lead in the upcoming drama 'Efficient Romance for Singles.'
Based on a popular webtoon, the series portrays the romance of modern singles who strive for efficiency in love — a story that reflects the realities of today, where love alone isn’t enough, but dating based solely on practical conditions also feels lacking.
Actress Han Ji Min, who recently wrapped up 'Love Scout,' has been offered the role of the female lead and is positively considering the project. If both actors confirm their participation, it will mark a special collaboration between label mates, potentially translating their off-screen rapport into on-screen chemistry.
Earlier this year, Park Sung Hoon gained attention for his performance in Netflix’s 'Squid Game Season 2.' However, he also faced public backlash after accidentally uploading explicit content on his personal social media account. He issued multiple apologies and tearfully addressed the incident in interviews, expressing deep regret.
Despite his apologies, the controversy persisted, leading to his departure from the upcoming drama 'The Tyrant's Chef.' The production team commented, “After much discussion, we decided it would be difficult to move forward with this project together. Park has conveyed his apologies on several occasions, and we reached this conclusion after careful consideration.”
With his potential return through 'Efficient Romance for Singles,' attention is now focused on whether Park Sung Hoon can successfully bounce back from recent setbacks and reestablish himself through a heartfelt romantic comedy.
