Former DIA member Ahn Somyi has announced her intentions to sue the YouTube channel HOVERLAB for defamation.
On March 28 KST, Ahn Somyi's management label Modern Berry Korea (MBK) stated,
"Hello, this is Modern Berry Korea.
We would like to relay our official position on all malicious comments, false rumors, personal attacks, and defamation directed against our artist, Ahn Somyi.
We have confirmed the indiscriminate spread of baseless rumors and malicious comments targeting Ahn Somyi. After inquiring into the matter, we have decided to pursue legal action to protect the rights and interests of our artist.
We would also like to take this opportunity to clarify that the allegations raised by the YouTube channel HOVERLAB on March 2, 2024, in the video "[Shocking Exclusive] DIA Members Fight Over One Man", are completely false. Ahn Somyi never dated CEO Kim Kwang Soo of PocketDol Studio. We will be pursuing strong legal action against HOVERLAB for spreading baseless rumors.
We will monitor various online and SNS platforms closely, and any future accounts of malicious activity directed against our artist will continue to be met with legal action. It is illegal to create and spread malicious content targeting a specific artist, and we promise to retaliate against this type of criminal activity through both civil and criminal means. We promise to work tirelessly in order to protect our artist and contribute to the growth of a healthy fan culture. We ask fans for your interest and support."
Meanwhile, Ahn Somyi debuted as a member of DIA in 2017, before leaving the team in January of 2022. She then resumed her activities as an internet BJ. Most recently, she signed an exclusive contract with Modern Berry Korea, hinting at her return to the entertainment scene.
