The movie The Match has confirmed its release date for March 26th.
The Match tells the story of South Korea’s greatest Go legend, Cho Hun Hyun (played by Lee Byung Hun), who, after losing to his disciple, challenges the top spot once again with his natural competitive spirit.
In the released poster, Lee Byung Hun, a legendary actor of all time in South Korea, perfectly transforms into the legendary Go master Cho Hun Hyun, capturing his charismatic presence. The poster also conveys Cho’s competitive, fierce spirit, giving viewers a strong sense of the movie's overwhelming power even just from the image.

Lee Byung Hun is making his return to the big screen for the first time in two years since Concrete Utopia (2023). He is set to take on the role of a fierce competitor in the movie theaters. In addition, with the global anticipation for Netflix's Squid Game Season 3 set to release later this year, interest in The Match is hotter than ever.
Meanwhile, The Match is directed by Kim Hyung Joo, known for his work on The Sheriff in Town. With hundreds of staff members carefully working on every detail for its theatrical release, The Match will premiere in theaters on March 26th (Wednesday).
