
NCT Doyoung successfully concludes Seoul run of ‘The Man Who Laughs’.
Portraying 'Gwynplaine', a man with a grotesque facial disfigurement but a pure heart, Doyoung masterfully conveyed a wide spectrum of emotions, from innocence and confusion to fear and sorrow. His expressive performance and exceptional vocal skills captivated audiences, earning him praise for his unique interpretation of the character.
From his first performance, Doyoung impressed with his dynamic stage presence, bringing a fresh and youthful charm to the role. His final Seoul performance on February 25 was no exception—he delivered an emotionally charged portrayal that earned a standing ovation from the audience.
The demand for Doyoung’s performances was overwhelming, with tickets selling out immediately upon release. On the day of his final show, even restricted-view seats were made available due to high demand, further proving his immense popularity.
Reflecting on his journey, Doyoung shared:
“This experience has been a true gift. I’ve learned and grown so much through Gwynplaine and The Man Who Laughs. I am deeply grateful to my fellow actors, staff, and orchestra members. Having already proven his versatility in music, variety shows, MC hosting, and acting, Doyoung has now firmly established himself as a leading figure in the musical theater scene. His next steps as a performer are highly anticipated.
