G-Dragon to release third full album ‘Ubermensch’ on February 25th.
On February 4th KST, G-Dragon announced the album’s release through a teaser video posted on his official fan SNS (@fanplusonedotcom).
The video opens with a mesmerizing silhouette of G-Dragon walking through dreamy, colorful lights, immediately capturing attention. As the silhouettes merge, they transform into the ‘U’ logo of ‘Ubermensch’, a design previously featured in the ‘POWER’ music video intro, delivering a striking visual impact.
The thumping heartbeat sound layered over what resembles the roar of an excited crowd intensifies the anticipation, culminating in the reveal of the album title and release date: ‘2025.02.25’.
What makes this album even more significant is that ‘Ubermensch’ marks G-Dragon’s first full-length album in 11 years and 5 months, following his 2013 release ‘Coup d’Etat’. Given the long hiatus, fans and industry insiders alike have been eagerly awaiting both the concept and timing of his grand return.
The album’s title, ‘Ubermensch’, derives from the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche, referring to the “Superman” or “Beyond-Man,” an individual who transcends their own limitations. G-Dragon, ever the “Born-to-be Artist,” is set to push past boundaries and redefine himself, returning stronger and more intense than ever.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon has been dominating the charts with his October 2024 digital single ‘POWER’ and November release ‘HOME SWEET HOME’ with BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung. ‘HOME SWEET HOME’ has held the No. 1 spot on Melon and Genie’s monthly charts for two consecutive months, proving the unwavering demand for G-Dragon’s music.
