A police report has been filed against the KBS2 drama 'The First Night With the Duke', starring Seohyun and Taecyeon, for damaging a cultural heritage site.
Previously on January 2 KST, media outlets reported that filming for 'The First Night With the Duke' was recently halted due to a complaint filed with Andong City Hall. An architect who was visiting the site spotted the drama crew driving nails into the exterior of Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy in Andong, a UNESCO Heritage Site since 2019, and complained about the incident. Afterward, KBS issued an apology and promised to work with the city in the site's restoration efforts.
However, the apology by KBS failed to address the public's outrage toward the incident, as on January 3 KST, it was revealed that a civilian had filed a report with the Andong Police Station against KBS for violating the National Heritage Act, demanding severe punishment.
According to the architect who publicized the incident on SNS, the filming crew had drive several nails to the exterior of the historic building in order to install lights.
