Footage of former EXO member Lay Zhang mentioning a possible reunion with his group members is garnering attention on various online communities. 

According to fans, Lay Zhang said during a recent broadcast appearance, "In September or October, we are seeing if we can get together with the members. I don't know and I'm not sure of anything right now, but we're talking."

Just last month, EXO's leader Suho also asked fans to look forward to EXO's group activities in 2025 during his attendance at the '9th Asia Artist Awards' in Bangkok, Thailand. In fact, maknae members Kai and Sehun will both complete their mandatory service duties in 2025, with Kai scheduled to be discharged on February 10 and Sehun scheduled to be discharged on September 20. 

In response to Lay's remarks, K-netizens commented, 

"Are there really 9-member EXO fans still..?"

"It looks like there are actually 9-member EXO fans becoming active again, online and offline."

"Is it really happening? Is it like those 1st-gen groups who disbanded and then got back together??"

"I wouldn't mind seeing all of EXO together again, even if it's just a one time event."

"I'm not opposed to it. With Lay, it's not like there were any hard feelings, he just left after his contract ended. He's still friends with the members."

"There aren't that many people who have negative feelings toward Lay, right..?"

"It's not a crime, but from the perspective of fans who supported the 8-member EXO, it might not be that welcoming either."

"Maybe he's literally just saying that they're gonna have a meal together after Kai and Sehun get back."

"I personally would prefer that he remain a 'good Chinese friend'."

"Not sure how EXO's newer fans will react if he suddenly decided to come back."

Meanwhile, Lay Zhang parted ways with his debut label SM Entertainment on April 8, 2022, but expressed his intentions to "be together with the members always," suggesting his openness to promote as EXO again in the future.
