On January 22, Soyeon and Yuqi of (G)I-DLE appeared on YouTube's Pixid channel, where they candidly discussed their contract renewal with Cube Entertainment, sharing behind-the-scenes stories and humorously referencing their settlement ratio.

Yuqi revealed that the members had signed their renewal contracts just before taking the stage at the '2024 Melon Music Awards.' This delay explained why (G)I-DLE joined the opening of the awards show slightly late. During the event, leader Soyeon announced their renewal on stage while accepting the Record of the Year award and reassured fans by saying, “We’re not disbanding,” an emotional moment that moved fans.

In the video, the duo reflected on the renewal process, highlighting the importance of settlement ratios. Yuqi admitted to checking the terms, saying, “I think ratios are very important since we’ll be continuing activities for a long time.” Soyeon agreed, emphasizing its significance for the group’s future.

The conversation took a lighthearted turn when Yuqi, while preparing a dish with Lao Gan Ma Chili Bean Sauce, joked about matching the sauce ratio to their settlement ratio with Cube Entertainment. 

She poured a generous amount of soy sauce, symbolizing Cube Entertainment, and carefully added a small portion of chili sauce, representing (G)I-DLE. As she added more chili sauce, she joked, “Just a little more; it’s my wish for the ratio to get better.” Soyeon laughed and commented that the balance had “slightly improved.”

The duo’s playful interaction offered fans a glimpse into the group’s strong bond and optimism for the future, with many applauding their honesty and humor. (G)I-DLE’s renewed partnership with Cube Entertainment signals a promising chapter ahead for the group.
