The writer-director of the 'Squid Game' series, Hwang Dong Hyuk, has spoken out regarding Park Sung Hoon's accidental upload of a pornographic parody poster.
As reported, Park Sung Hoon’s agency explained that the actor unintentionally posted the Japanese AV parody poster of 'Squid Game' on his Instagram. The image had been sent to him via a direct message, and he had intended to forward it to his company manager but mistakenly shared it publicly.
Responding to the incident, Hwang Dong Hyuk expressed his displeasure, calling such parodies "unpleasant" and stating that they "distort the meaning of the (original) work itself."
He also revealed that he has not yet discussed the matter directly with Park Sung Hoon and would like to know how the mistake occurred. When asked about his feelings on seeing an adult film concept tied to a project into which he invested so much effort, Hwang Dong Hyuk shared his thoughts candidly, in full:
"Even during Season 1, as far as I know, something like this happened overseas. Isn't it common for such things to occur when famous works are released? It's unpleasant. It completely distorts the meaning of the work itself. I haven't had a chance to talk to Park Sung Hoon about this issue. It seems like someone sent it to Park Sung Hoon, but I haven’t heard how it ended up being uploaded. Honestly, I also want to know why such a mistake happened."
