On December 12, Han Ye Seul officially introduced her husband, Ryu Sung Jae, to the public through a video titled 'A Formal Introduction (Husband Initiation Ceremony): A Balance Game with My Husband' on her personal YouTube channel, 'Han Ye Seul is'.
In the video, Han Ye Seul warmly referred to Ryu Sung Jae as “my playful darling who’s always remained a bit of a mystery with brief appearances.” She shared, “Since we got married this year, I felt it wouldn’t be right to move into 2025 without properly introducing my husband.” She revealed that “the theme for our 2025 content will be centered around my husband and me.”
In a moment of humor, she joked, “He doesn’t have a name—he’s just Han Ye Seul’s husband,” causing both her and the audience to laugh. Visibly a little nervous, Ryu Sung Jae introduced himself modestly as “Han Ye Seul’s husband.”
A Love Story That Breaks Boundaries
Han Ye Seul and Ryu Sung Jae registered their marriage in May 2024. Their relationship, which spans a decade in age difference, first gained public attention in 2021 when Han Ye Seul candidly addressed rumors about Ryu Sung Jae’s background. At the time, she revealed, “Ryu Sung Jae was a stage actor and once worked at a karaoke establishment. Many people might associate that with host bars, but I think of karaoke as an open and social space.”
She elaborated on their meeting, saying, “I first met him several years ago at a karaoke bar through mutual acquaintances, but it wasn’t until September last year, after he left that job, that I began feeling love for him.” Han Ye Seul also refuted allegations against him: "Through honest conversations, I learned that the rumors were false. I chose to trust his sincerity over baseless speculation.”
A Partnership Rooted in Happiness
Post-marriage, Han Ye Seul has continued to express her unwavering love and support for Ryu Sung Jae. In an October appearance on the YouTube channel 'Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup', she openly discussed their dynamic, saying, “Ryu Sung Jae may not have the societal credentials or achievements that people expect, but if he makes me genuinely happy, that’s what truly matters to me.”
She added, “If I didn’t believe in the value of my happiness and love, I wouldn’t have had the courage to choose him. I’m grateful every day for this journey we’re on together.”
Reflecting on her relationship, Han Ye Seul shared, “Some might question why I chose this path, but I see finding my other half as nothing short of a miracle.”
