Recently, former EXO member Tao, who married former SM Rookies member Xu Yiyang, garnered much attention after making a special promise during a live stream.
According to Chinese media outlet Sina.com, on December 25, Tao conducted a live stream the previous day on December 24, where he announced that if his fan count reached 15 million, he would give away 10 cars exclusively to viewers of the broadcast.
He stated, "Fans can choose the car model and color they want, but I’ll need some time to prepare." Tao quickly made headlines after making his promise. Following his announcement, the number of followers on his account reportedly surged.
According to the media, Tao’s monthly income through live streams is estimated to be around 25 million yuan (approximately 3.4 million USD).
Meanwhile, after debuting with EXO in 2012, Tao left the group in April 2015 and has since been active in the Greater China region. He recently married Xu Yiyang, a singer and actress who rose to fame as an SM Entertainment trainee under SM Rookies in 2016.
The couple had been embroiled in multiple dating rumors since 2020 but either denied them or remained silent. It wasn’t until July of this year that they officially confirmed their relationship through their Weibo accounts.
