Kang Min Goo, director of Genie TV's 'Namib,' has addressed the rumors circulating in the public.
On December 16, a production press conference for Genie TV's 'Namib' was held at D-Cube City in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Kang Min Goo and actors Ryeoun, Yoon Sang Hyun, and Lee Jin Woo. Actress Go Hyun Jung, who was originally scheduled to attend, was absent due to a sudden health issue.
'Namib' tells the story of Kang Soo Hyun (played by Go HyunJung), a former star producer who was fired, and Yoo Jin Woo (played by Ryeoun), a long-time trainee who was released from his agency. The two come together to pursue their individual goals, creating a compelling drama.
Prior to the press conference, speculation arose on online communities and social media, with some users suggesting that 'Namib' might be inspired by Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR.
Addressing these rumors, director Kang Min Goo stated, "I'm aware of those reactions, but this project was planned and produced long before that incident occurred." He further emphasized, "I'm not too concerned about it."
He continued, "Our work is our work, and those matters are separate. We remain focused solely on our own production without paying attention to such issues."
'Namib' is set to premiere on December 23 at 10 PM.
