The entertainment industry has joined the nation in mourning after the tragic Jeju Air flight crash at Muan International Airport, which resulted in significant loss of life.

On the morning of December 29th, Jeju Air flight 7C2216, traveling from Bangkok, Thailand, to Muan International Airport, crashed. The aircraft carried a total of 181 passengers, including 179 South Korean nationals and 2 Thai nationals. Of these, only 2 survivors were rescued, while 179 lives were lost.

In response to the devastating news, the entertainment industry expressed its condolences. The three major broadcasters canceled scheduled variety programs and replaced them with special news coverage. Additionally, the 2024 MBC Entertainment Awards, which was scheduled to take place that evening, was canceled.

Broadcaster Jun Hyun Moo changed his Instagram profile picture to an image of a chrysanthemum, a symbol of mourning, and shared the message, "Mourning the victims of the Muan air crash."

Comedians Park Na Rae and Park Myung Soo posted photos of white chrysanthemums alongside messages that read, "We pray for the peaceful repose of the deceased."

G-Dragon shared a black-and-white photo of a daisy with a yellow ribbon emoji, symbolizing his condolences.

Singer Lim Young Woong observed a moment of silence for the victims before the start of his solo concert, 'Lim Young Woong Recital,' on December 29th. Following the opening performance, he expressed his sorrow, saying, "Hearing the news of this plane crash and the loss of so many precious lives fills me with deep sadness. I sincerely offer my condolences to the victims and their families."

In addition, many other celebrities, including Jo Se Ho, Song Eun Yi, Sung Si Kyung, Song Ga In, Jang Yoon Jung, Do Kyung Wan, Jang Sung Kyu, and Lee Sang Min, shared messages of mourning with photos of chrysanthemums to honor the victims.
